Frequently Asked Questions

What are the study tours’ objectives?

  1. Understand mobility in the Netherlands through immersion
  2. Learn about infrastructure and public policies in the Netherlands
  3. Get ideas for solutions that fit with their local context and apply the experiences to develop specific policies at home

What will the activities during the tour be?

We will challenge you! Participants will be actively engaged in the tour, not just following a guide or listening to lectures. By sharing experiences, participants not only learn from guides but also from their fellow participants. Our two-day tours include the following types of activities :

  • Presentations

  • Observational tours

  • Group work

  • Site visits

  • Bicycle trips

  • Discussions

  • Assignments

All along the tours we will arrange meetings with local stakeholders, such as engineers, urban planners and designers, or members from city councils.

Who is the target audience?

Whether you are a planner, an engineer, a designer, a business person, a politician or an advocate, you will learn from the Dutch mobility expertise. As tour organizers, we are keen to welcome visitors with different backgrounds. We believe that this enriches the tour itself. Please check out each tour’s PDF syllabus to see if their respective topics correspond  to your expectations. If you are looking for a specific tour for a particular target audience, please feel free to get in touch with us for a customised tour.

In which language will the study tours run?

All tours are delivered in English. Some tours can be delivered in French as well.

What should I bring?

Make sure you have clothes that suit a bike tour (basically the same clothes you would wear for a walking tour). The bikes we will rent have a back rack with bungee cords so you can strap your bag on with jacket, water, camera, wallet etc.

Make sure you always have a bit of cash because not all places accept credit and debit cards.
